Gleipnir, the fetter that finally held Fenrir, was spun by dwarves from six impossible things: the sound of a cat stepping, the roots of a mountain, the beard of a woman, the sinews of a bear, the breath of a fish and the spittle of a bird. What the gods handed the wolf looked like a silk ribbon, and it held.
This bracelet works on the same split. Black leather carries the wrist, and the metal does the talking: a wolf head cast in silver toned metal, jaws parted, fur cut in fine ridges with the hollows darkened so the brow and muzzle read at a glance.
Behind the head, the bar runs out to a triquetra on each side, that three cornered knot drawn in one unbroken line which turns up again and again in northern carving.
Flat black leather bands sit side by side around the wrist, grain clearly visible, gathered at each end by polished silver toned collars. The colour scheme stays simple: black leather, bright silver, and a darker tone reserved for the carved detail.
Leather likes dry air, so a wipe with a dry cloth keeps it looking its best.
It sits with our leather wolf bracelets and the wider wolf bracelet range. The binding story is told in full in Fenrir.
