Sofa throw or bed cover, and why it changes the choice

These two uses pull in opposite directions and it is worth knowing which you are buying for.

A sofa throw is handled constantly. It gets pulled around, sat on, folded, and washed far more often than bedding does. Practicality matters more than the design reading perfectly, since it will spend most of its life folded or bunched.

A bed cover is seen flat and seen whole. The full composition is visible, which means a design with a strong central image works properly rather than being lost in folds. It also gets washed less and lives a gentler life.

If a blanket is going on a bed as the visible top layer, the larger sizes are the only sensible options. If it is going on a sofa, the middle sizes serve better and the design will be seen in fragments regardless.

Colour, and how it sits against a room

Colour options across the range cover black, white and blue grounds, and the choice affects the room more than the wolf design does.

Black and dark designs recede visually and make a room feel more enclosed. On a light sofa they read as a strong deliberate accent. On a dark sofa they disappear, which may be what you want if the blanket is for warmth first.

Washing, pilling and keeping it soft
