Two animals appear in the photograph, and between them they tell one story: a wolf with its head dropped below the line of its shoulders and its lips parted over its teeth, and a heavy fleeced sheep standing square a short way off. The wolf is smoky grey-brown with rust warming the flanks, a dark mask across the face and black paws. The sheep is cream, with a dark brown face, ears and hooves.
The two are offered as separate styles, so you can take the hunter, the quarry, or one of each. The wolf figurine measures 4.6 cm x 9.5 cm. The sheep figurine is the wider of the two, at 5.2 cm across.
The distance left between the pair is what carries the drama. Stood close, the sheep looks cornered. A hand's width apart on a shelf or windowsill, the wolf reads as an animal still deciding. Turn the sheep to face away and the moment tips again.
