Bedding down in the open is normal for a wolf right through winter, and snow settling on the back over a long night works as another layer of cover rather than a problem. The one on this canopy is doing exactly that, chest and legs sunk into deep snow, chin close to the surface, eyes half closed and level with yours.
Snow fills nearly the whole frame and goes to plain white at the rim, so the panels carry very little dark ink at all. Seen from below on a dull afternoon it is a pale, quiet field with one grey and tan wolf set into the middle of it, which is an unusual thing to have overhead in bad weather.
Eight solid fibre ribs pull the fabric into a shallow cone, and that shape is the whole business of staying dry. Water landing anywhere on the waterproof pongee has one route open to it, down the slope of the panel to the perimeter, and at 110 cm across that perimeter sits well clear of your shoulders before the drops let go.
