Light and dark share one sky in this design. A pale grey wolf with a clear blue eye lifts its muzzle on the left, a black wolf mirrors the pose on the right, and the heavens behind them split down the middle: burning orange and gold on one side, violet nebula on the other, with a deep red planet sitting low in the haze.
Most people have met the parable of two wolves fighting inside a person, where the one you feed is the one that wins. It travels widely online as Cherokee teaching, though the attribution is genuinely disputed, and close versions of it appear in twentieth century sermons with no Native source attached. It remains a good story. It is simply better told without a borrowed pedigree stapled to it.
The artwork itself shows no fight. Both wolves are doing the same thing at the same moment, muzzles up and throats open, which is how a pack actually sounds: a chorus rather than a contest, and the animals joining in are usually family. For the older symbolic reading of the animal, we have written about the wolf as a totem animal.
