Skin is not a neutral background. It has its own colour, and every transfer sits on top of that rather than replacing it.
Red and orange are the most reliable colours across the widest range of skin tones, because they are already related to what is underneath. They stay legible on pale and on deep skin alike.
The colours that struggle are the cool pale ones: light blue, pale yellow, white. On deeper skin tones they lose contrast quickly, which is why a design built on them can look striking in a photograph and faint in person.
Flames in red and yellow are about the safest colour choice available.
The wolf here is built on that pairing. It faces straight out, the outer coat almost black, the face and chest running red and orange in long tapering strokes like flame, the eyes lit amber and the ear tips touched with yellow. Pale bubbles are scattered through the dark fur below.
15 x 21 cm is a substantial transfer, and large designs need flat skin. A curved or tapering area, like a lower forearm or an ankle, will not take a big rectangle evenly and the edges lift first.
An upper arm, a thigh, a shoulder blade or the upper back all work.
Clean dry skin, no moisturiser. Press with a damp sponge for around thirty seconds, then peel the backing slowly rather than pulling it.
