Small enough for a wrist

4.3 x 9 cm is genuinely small, and that opens up placements most designs cannot use.

An inner wrist, the inside of an ankle, behind an ear, the back of the neck, a collarbone. These are the spots people most often want and most often cannot fill, because almost every design sold is too large for them.

The narrow upright shape helps too. A wrist is a curved surface a few centimetres across, and only a design that is taller than it is wide will sit on it without wrapping.

One warning about wrists

They are the worst place for longevity. A wrist flexes constantly, rubs against sleeves and cuffs, and gets washed more than any other part of you.

Expect noticeably less than five days there. An ankle or behind the ear will hold considerably longer.

The design is Ojibwe in origin: a woven web inside a hoop, hung above a sleeping place to catch bad dreams while good ones pass through to the sleeper.

The wolf and cub inside it is a modern addition rather than traditional.
