Canva Painting Size Chart

Wolf paintings are sold in several sizes, and the single most common mistake is ordering one too small. A canvas that looks generous on a screen can look stranded once it is on a wall.

The rule that gets it right

Art hung above furniture should span roughly two thirds of the width of whatever sits beneath it. Above a standard sofa that usually means going one size larger than instinct suggests.

For an empty wall with no furniture below, aim to fill between half and two thirds of the usable width.

If you are hesitating between two sizes, take the larger one. An oversized piece reads as confident; an undersized one reads as an accident.

Hanging height

Hang so the centre of the piece sits at eye level, roughly 145 cm from the floor. Above a sofa or console, leave about a hand's width between the top of the furniture and the bottom of the frame. Hanging art too high is the most common mistake in a decorated room and it is instantly visible once you know to look.

Measuring by size

The diagrams below show each size against a room so you can judge the scale before ordering. Measure your wall first and compare it against the one in the picture rather than estimating.

Framed or unframed

Most pieces are offered both ways. Framed arrives ready to hang with nothing else to buy. Unframed is a rolled canvas, which suits you if you already own a frame or want something oversized, since large framed pieces are expensive to ship. An unframed canvas will need stretching or mounting before it goes on the wall.
