Three pigs in felt dungarees lie side by side, one in red over green, one in yellow over red and one in pink over blue, each with a pink painted wooden head, a raised tan snout with two dark nostrils and a pair of pale felt ears. The wolf lies below them, grey from ear to hem, with a black nose, a dark painted brow and a silver white bib across his chest.
Composition is wood and fabric. Each head is turned in wood with the face painted on, and each body is soft felt, open at the base so a finger slides straight in. The pigs carry pale felt trotters at the cuffs and hems, and the wolf has the broadest body of the four, which makes him easy to pick out when his turn arrives.
Straw, sticks and bricks: the tale needs three householders and one visitor, and the whole cast is here. One hand can hold the pigs while the other walks the wolf up to the door, and the huffing and puffing is usually supplied without any prompting. Made from wood and fabric, for children over 3 years old.
