A wolf's head, jaws open, built from crossing contour lines. Look at the muzzle and you can follow the mesh bending over the bridge of the nose, tightening along the gum line, then spreading wide across the cheek and running up into the pricked ears. The fangs break the pattern, drawn as clean outlined shapes against the dark of the open mouth.
That net is the whole method. Each line is engraved into the clear panel, and each one sits where a curved surface would fall if the head were solid. Where the lines crowd together, the glow reads as a surface turning away from you. Where they open out, it reads as facing you square on.
Light enters from the base, runs up inside the acrylic and escapes only where the engraving interrupts it, so the picture appears to hang unsupported in the dark. Below the head the clear panel carries a faint lit edge down into the round base, which is all the support the snarl needs.
