A white wolf set above a dark brown one, the pale half backed by cool blue light and the dark half by a red and orange blaze. The opposition is the entire composition, and adding a third element would only dilute it.

Near black and white, which is the practical part

The animals themselves are close to black and white, with the colour kept behind them in the sky. That makes it an easy print to carry. It sits against denim, navy, olive, tan, brick and grey without a moment's thought, where a strong colour has to be matched.

The detail worth a second look is the white wolf's eyes, which do not match: one green, one orange, so the split in the design runs through the animal as well as across the panel.
