Conifer forest is the classic wolf country of the northern hemisphere, and this design builds the whole picture out of it. A pale mint sky cools into teal at the top, flat green mountain shapes stack up behind, and a silhouetted line of spruce and fir crosses the middle. Towards the hem the green darkens until it is almost black.
At the centre, facing straight out, is a single wolf head worked in warm grey linework. Leaves, chevrons, dots and small repeating shapes fill the ruff, the ears and the bridge of the muzzle, and a pale diamond sits between the eyes. The style is decorative rather than photographic, which keeps it legible from the other side of the room.
