Heraldry gave its beasts a frame. An animal was drawn head on, jaws open, and held inside a border so it could be read across a field at distance. The buckle on this belt follows the same logic. A wolf's head sits at the centre in raised relief, ears pricked, muzzle open on its teeth, ringed first by a band of chevron marks and then by a beaded circle.
Around that circle the plate opens out into large curling scrolls that carry the design past its border ring. The finish is an antique silver tone, darkened in the recesses so the fur, the brow and the teeth stand clear of the ground behind them.
Woven nylon in grey carries a fine ribbed weave across its width. A smooth rectangular clamp above the emblem takes the strap, so the front face stays uninterrupted and the wolf keeps the whole of the plate to itself.
