Most decorative cushions are bought to go with furniture that already exists, and this is where a lot of them fail. A strong colour has to be matched, and matching a colour from a photograph is unreliable.
Grey does not need matching. It sits against navy, brown, cream, black, charcoal and most upholstery patterns without any planning, because it is not competing with anything.
If you are buying without the sofa in front of you, this is the safe one.
Not a single colour, which is why the animal photographs so well. A grey wolf's coat is a mix of banded hairs, individually striped light and dark along their length, and the grey you see is those bands averaging out at a distance.
Up close there is very little plain grey anywhere on the animal. It is a colour that only exists from across the room.
A photograph rather than a drawing. One wolf, head and chest, facing straight out at you with a front paw forward at the lower edge. The ground behind it is clean white snow with no horizon, so it prints as a plain white field and the animal is the only thing on the cushion. The banding shows clearly here, grey through to tan across the head with a cream ruff down the chest and pale eyes.
