The panel here is cut to follow the animal's own outline, so its border doubles as part of the drawing. That ridge of raised hair along the top of the head is the edge of the acrylic itself, and the sweep of the neck carries the line down to the base.
The wolf is turned roughly three quarters towards you, jaws open and teeth showing, with one ear laid flat against the neck. Heavy lines mark the brow and the muzzle, and the strokes are bold rather than finely hatched, so the face lands as one strong mark rather than a texture.
Lit from the base, those engraved lines glow while the clear sheet holding them keeps out of the way. A small band of light shows at the top of the base where it enters the acrylic.
Sixteen colours, four flashing modes and adjustable light intensity mean one engraving can be pushed loud or held quiet, all from the remote control supplied with it.
