A grey-brown saddle runs from the shoulders along the back and out to the tip of the tail, while the muzzle, throat, chest and legs stay in pale sand. The head is up and turned slightly to one side, the pale blue eyes set beneath dark brows, and the black nose and small black claw tips give the colouring its sharpest contrast.
The Iberian wolf is a subspecies of Canis lupus found only on the Iberian Peninsula, one of the wolves of Spain, recognised by the lighter brown and beige tones that run along its belly and lower legs. The sculpt follows that pattern closely, and the fur is worked in fine lines through the ruff and down the haunches so the coat reads as thick rather than smooth.
