Bold, because small panels need it

A design on a bag this size has very little room to work with, and that decides the style.

High contrast and heavy shapes stay readable at 17 x 23 cm. Delicate shading and fine linework do not: they close up into a grey patch as soon as the design is reduced. The warrior wolf is drawn the way it is for that reason, and it is the boldest print in our shoulder bag range.

Here that means one white head in profile on a plain black ground, filling the panel top to bottom, scarred across the muzzle, with a single pale blue eye showing and a little warm light along the jaw.

Earned, though not for the reason people assume. Wolves do not overpower prey. They follow a herd for hours, testing it, until something slower shows itself, and the overwhelming majority of hunts fail.

Endurance rather than ferocity, which is a better thing to carry around than pure aggression.
