Red, purple, gold and cream run in banded rings across a large medallion, and three wolves stand in front of it. The centre wolf is rust brown and faces straight out. The two beside it are grey and white, turned left and right, so the group reads as a single crest. Turquoise, red and black feathers rise from the middle head, with a small beaded rosette at the ear and a striped feather hanging beside it.
The geometry is the second subject. Chevrons, triangles and stepped bands fill the disc behind the wolves, and the borders along the top and bottom pick the theme up again in red and green, with quarter medallions turning at each corner. Set against a warm tan ground, the colours stay bright without shouting, and the design holds together at full curtain height.
Front, left and right gives the picture a centre and two flanks, and the eye lands on the rust brown wolf first every time.
