Grey is never just grey

A timber wolf looks grey only from a distance. Each guard hair is banded along its length with black, buff and rust, so the coat mixes optically instead of sitting flat, and the animal shifts in tone as it moves through bracken and low light. The artwork keeps that quality, particularly in the ruff and along the muzzle, where the banding shows most clearly.

Scale, and where a big head belongs

Timber wolf is the old woodsman's name for the grey wolves of the northern forests, and the animal it describes is heavier through the neck and shoulders than most people expect. Artwork wants room to say that. On any jacket the largest uninterrupted panel is the back, with no pockets or zip cutting across it, which is why large wolf heads so often end up there in streetwear. Close up you read the eyes. From across a room you read the shape of the skull.

The build is thick and hooded, organic cotton inside, polyester outside, with a reinforced zip at the front. Machine washable at 30 degrees.
