The form underneath this design is a clover, with a wolf head filling each of the four leaves and a small red stone set at the centre where they meet. The clover is a luck symbol from Ireland and the Celtic world rather than from Scandinavia.
So the piece combines two traditions that were neighbours, occasionally violently, and did not share this particular symbol. That is not a fault. It is simply a modern design drawing on both, and it is better to say so than to present it as an authentic Norse artefact.
Since the shape is a luck charm, the actual numbers are worth having. Estimates for four-leaf clovers run at roughly one in five thousand, which is rare enough to be a genuine find and common enough that people do find them.
It is caused by a recessive genetic quirk and by growing conditions, so a patch that produces one will often produce more. If you have ever known someone who seemed to find them constantly, they were probably searching the same patch.
Stainless steel in a silver tone, worn by men and women alike, and hard enough to keep its detail through daily wear without tarnishing.
