Red tartan, ripped into jagged points at the hem and the cuffs, does most of the storytelling in this costume. It is the oldest visual shorthand in werewolf film: the clothes give way first, and what stands up inside them is no longer the man who buttoned them on. Here the shirt sits over a grey fur chest that pushes through the open collar, so the ruin reads as something the body has outgrown.
The head is a full mask with upright grey ears, a brown and grey muzzle, amber eyes and an open mouth showing teeth. The trousers carry a marbled grey and purple pattern finished with the same shredded edge at the ankle. Black furred gloves are shown with it, and the outfit works because all four pieces are telling the same story.
