Black Werewolf Hoodie

Black coats in North American wolves trace back to dogs. A gene variant carried out of domestic dogs and into wolf packs thousands of years ago flips grey to black, and it took hold most strongly in forested country where dark cover pays. This design commits to that same darkness.

A head drawn in white line

One wolf fills the artwork, seen in profile with its jaws open and its mane streaming back. The whole thing is monochrome: teeth, ridged muzzle and every separate strand of fur are etched in fine pale lines over solid black, so the animal reads as drawing rather than photograph. A scatter of small white specks sits in the background behind it.

How the print sits

The image runs across the chest and carries over one shoulder and sleeve. The hood, cuffs and lower body stay black, which lets the head keep all of the attention. Drawstrings are white.
