Wolf Head Bed Set King

A dreamcatcher hoop frames the wolf on this design, its web drawn in thin white lines across a galaxy of deep blue and burnt orange. Below the face the moon runs through its phases, slim crescents on either side and a full golden disc low at the foot of the bed. The wolf is painted in cold blue with one amber eye, and the same head, ringed by the same hoop, appears on both pillow covers.

The year a wolf family keeps

A wolf family lives by a calendar as plain as those moons. Pups are born in spring, usually four to six of them, and for the first weeks the mother stays in the den while the rest of the family brings food to her.

Through summer the litter is moved out to rendezvous sites, patches of open ground where the young can play and be minded while the adults hunt. By autumn the pups travel with everyone else. By their second or third winter many will have left to find a mate and raise a litter of their own, which is how a single pair becomes a pack and then several.
