Both ears stand up and the muzzle tips down, the posture of a wolf listening. Wolves turn each ear on its own to place a sound, they can pick up a howl from several miles off in open country, and the long jaw behind that muzzle carries forty two teeth.
The head is shown in three quarter view, turned a little towards you so both ears read clearly and the muzzle runs down and away to the left. It is built from flat facets: a broad wedge across the brow, narrow bands down the bridge of the nose, a stack of triangles under the jaw for the ruff. The eye is a single cut opening. Because the whole pendant is open, whatever sits behind it becomes the colour of the face, so it shifts with a coat pocket, a table top or the sky.
A short chain joins the head to a wide split ring, both in the same bright stainless steel.
