A cushion is never flat. It creases, folds and is sat on, and the design has to survive all of that while still looking like itself.
Soft-edged artwork handles it far better than a hard graphic does. A crisp outline breaks visibly at a fold; a watercolour has no crisp outline to break, so the image simply follows the shape of the cushion.
It is the same reason soft-focus designs work on curved surfaces generally, and it is why this reads well from any angle rather than only face on.
A young wolf's head in loose washes of colour, which puts this among the very few pieces in our range that suit a nursery or a child's room.
Everything else here is an adult animal, and adult wolf imagery ranges from atmospheric to frightening for a small child. This does not.
