Wolf Print Duvet Cover

One face fills the whole of this comforter cover: a wolf head painted in teal and pewter, brushed through with gold, looking straight out from a night sky flecked with stars. A thin gold ring floats just above the brow like a small moon. The pillow covers crop in tighter, holding the pale eyes and the dark muzzle.

Ma'iingan, the one who walks alongside

Anishinaabe teaching tells of Original Man walking the newly made world with Ma'iingan, the wolf, at his side, the two of them naming every living thing as they went. When they parted they were told their fates would run together: whatever happened to one would happen to the other. That is a heavier idea than a mascot, and it is part of why a wolf meeting your eye from a bed reads as company rather than threat.

The palette does its share. Cool blue green over near black keeps a room quiet, the gold catches lamplight along the fur, and the starry ground gives the face somewhere to sit.
