Bared teeth, a creased muzzle and fur drawn as sharp spikes: this single wolf faces straight out, one solid black shape with the eyes, brows and fur lines cut through it as fine open channels. The head reads like a mark or an emblem rather than a portrait.
People who follow the grey wolf for a living can go whole seasons without meeting one head on.
