Long, slightly curved and drawn to a fine point: that is the shape of a wolf's canine, the tooth it grips with. These drops take the same outline, broad across the top and narrowing along one edge until the metal finishes in a tip.
The upper half carries a wolf head in relief, looking straight out at you. It is properly modelled for the space it occupies: ears up, brow, eyes and muzzle each worked separately, and the ruff around the neck broken into strands rather than left as one mass. Lower down the fur detail releases into smooth, bright metal, so a single drop does two things at once, portrait above and blade below.
Each drop hangs from a small ring under a curved wire hook, which lets the tooth swing and turn with movement rather than sitting flat against the jaw. The recesses are darkened so the fur lines stay legible against the raised surfaces.
