A whole winter landscape sits inside the wolf on this canopy. Its body is a double exposure: snow covered conifers, a bare ridge line and falling flakes, all held within the outline of a tawny wolf walking left across open snow, set on a background of pale winter white.
Real wolves are built for the scene printed inside this one. The winter coat comes in two layers, long guard hairs that shed water and rain, and a dense woolly underfur that traps warm air against the skin. That is why a wolf can curl up in falling snow and sleep through the night with frost settling on its back.
Most of the canopy is left almost empty, so the rust and ochre of the coat carries the whole design. Dye sublimation keeps those warm tones from washing out of such a pale field.
