It's a heartbreaking reality that the Gray Wolves of the Northern Rockies have been under attack since their removal from the Endangered Species Act last year. The very creatures that were once protected and cherished are now being mercilessly hunted down.
The laws in Idaho allow hunters to shoot and trap as many wolves as they like year-round. In Montana, individual hunters can kill up to 20 wolves a year each, and in Wyoming, there are no hunting limits in many parts of the state. Even the wolves of Yellowstone National Park are being hunted when they leave the park’s boundaries.
If this continues, we risk losing 90% of the Gray Wolves of the Northern Rockies in Idaho alone.
January Update: Over 2,000 wolves have been killed in the western USA since July 1st, 2021.
