Watercolour keeps moving after the brush has left. Pigment travels into wet paper, pools, and dries darkest where the bloom stops. That drift is the whole of this design.
The wolf faces forward, built from blue and violet washes with a cool green creeping in around the jaw. White is left bare down the muzzle and across the cheeks, following the way a real wolf's face lightens towards the centre. A halo of loose spatter surrounds the head, so the animal seems to be arriving out of the paper rather than sitting on it.
The eyes are the sharpest thing in the image, pale and ringed dark. The nose is a small near black point. The ears hold a firm violet edge and end in clean points, which is what keeps the head steady while the wash around it drifts.
