The gold in a wolf's eye Amber is a wolf's grown up eye colour. Pups are born with blue eyes, and the iris warms through to gold or yellow within the first few months of life. This painted portrait builds everything around that one...

Bedding down in the open is normal for a wolf right through winter, and snow settling on the back over a long night works as another layer of cover rather than a problem. The one on this canopy is doing exactly that, chest and...

Red mask on a black dial A marker at twelve shaped differently from all the others is one of the oldest tricks in watch design. The eye finds the top of the dial before it reads anything, and the rest falls into place from...

Leyding and Dromi were the first two fetters the gods tried on Fenrir. He kicked Leyding apart at the first attempt. Dromi was made twice as strong, and he broke that as well, hard enough that the pieces flew. Only the third binding ever...

A husky drawn on wolf lines Grey and brown fur runs over the skull and back of this seated plush, then breaks into cream at the muzzle, chest and legs. That split is the whole reason northern dogs get mistaken for wolves at a...

A whole wolf, drawn in light Standing square to the room, this wolf is engraved whole: the head carried low between high hunched shoulders, ears swept flat back, lips lifted off the teeth, and every claw on the front paws picked out one at...

The howl, held at its peak A wolf howls with its head thrown back and its muzzle tipped up, which lifts the sound clear of the ground and lets it carry for miles across open country. This panel catches the animal at exactly that...

They raised himFenrir is usually introduced as a monster the gods had to deal with. The detail that gets dropped is that they brought him up.He was taken to Asgard as a cub and kept among them, and as he grew the gods became...

One face, two halves, split on a vertical axis Down the centre of this black pullover runs a clean vertical line, and either side of it sits half a wolf. Left of the line, a black wolf with a red eye. Right of it,...

Three wolves move across the wall in nebula colour. One is caught at full stretch mid leap, one stands with its head thrown back, and a third howls at the right hand edge. Each body is filled with the same deep field of blue,...

Standing on a ridge of rock, this wolf has turned its head to look straight out of the panel. The body runs side on, the tail sweeps down and back in feathered strokes, and the face pivots towards you. How the picture floats The...

A wolf's head, jaws open, built from crossing contour lines. Look at the muzzle and you can follow the mesh bending over the bridge of the nose, tightening along the gum line, then spreading wide across the cheek and running up into the pricked...

Flowing curves do the drawing here. The mane, flanks and tail are built from long sweeping forms with pointed tips, and the wolf is caught mid stride in a low prowling stance, one front paw reaching forward and the tail lifted high behind. Hatching...

Built like the beast Moulded muscle padding gives this costume its whole outline. The chest, shoulders and upper arms are sculpted into the top, so the bulk is part of the garment rather than something the wearer has to supply. Grey fur print runs...

Gold over steelThe plating is what you see; the steel underneath is what makes it last. That combination gives a warm gold tone with none of the softness of actual gold, which scratches and bends far more readily. At 20g it has real presence in...
