Dusk does the colouring in this photograph. A husky puppy stands on a ridge of dry golden grass, black and white face turned towards you, under a sky burnt through with amber, rust and deep brown. The reflection on the ridge Below the ridge...

Direwolves were real animals. Aenocyon dirus ranged across the Americas until roughly thirteen thousand years ago, heavier in the jaw than a grey wolf and built for larger prey. Fiction borrowed the name. This cover borrows the snarl. The face of the cover The...

Bold linework survives being smallThere is a technical reason this style dominates jewellery, and it has nothing to do with fashion.A photorealistic wolf reduced to pendant scale turns to mush: the detail that made it convincing is the first thing lost. A design built...

Grey on a wolf is never one flat tone. Individual guard hairs are banded along their length, so a coat that reads as grey from across a valley is really black, cream and brown mixed together. This design takes that idea to its limit...

One wolf calling into the dark A single wolf sits on this jacket with its head tipped back, mid howl. It is the image everyone recognises, and it is usually misread. Wolves do not howl out of loneliness. A howl carries for miles across...

A diamond sits at the centre of this print, and everything happens inside it. The upper half is a wolf's face built from starlight, white fur running out into violet and cyan, the eyes pale blue. The lower half drops into a forest of...

A coat of winter grey Silver and white guard hairs are printed across the whole jumpsuit, and they are laid in the direction fur actually grows: down the arms, back along the flanks, out over the shins. That single decision is what stops the...

What a snarl is really for Bared teeth are a wolf's way of ending an argument rather than starting one. The lifted lip, the wrinkled muzzle and the fixed stare are signals designed to be read from a distance and answered, and most disagreements...

Dark all the way throughSubject and palette agreeing with each other, which is not true of every design in this range. A wolf sitting back on its haunches and howling, worked in greys and silver white against a night sky, with a full moon...

Odin and his wolvesOdin kept two wolves, Geri and Freki, whose names both mean roughly the ravenous one. The sagas say he gave them all his food and lived on wine alone. They sat at his feet in Valhalla, and they are the reason the...

Weight as part of the designAt 18.5g this sits well above the average for our range, and on a Norse piece that is appropriate. Viking metalwork was not delicate, and a lightweight ring carrying this imagery would feel wrong in the hand.Odin, and why...

Amber on one side, violet on the other The wolf's face is split down the muzzle by two light sources. The left half sits in warm amber and tawny gold, the right half falls away into deep violet shadow. Warm and cool sit opposite...

The full moon is the newest part of the legend. In the older accounts the change came from a curse, a pact, a salve or a belt, and it could arrive at any hour of any night. Twentieth century cinema tied the werewolf to...

They raised himFenrir is usually introduced as a monster the gods had to deal with. The detail that gets dropped is that they brought him up.He was taken to Asgard as a cub and kept among them, and as he grew the gods became...

Fifty six gramsThis is the heaviest bracelet in our range by a wide margin, roughly four times the weight of the lightest leather bands we sell.Weight is not a flaw here; it is the point. A werewolf piece that felt insubstantial would undercut itself....
