A face made to be read

Wolves are unusually good at reading one another. Pale fur around the muzzle and eyes makes the direction of a gaze easy to follow across a clearing, which is why a wolf's face carries so much meaning to the animals around it. This dial takes that face and puts it where the eye lands all day.

The portrait is painted in blues and whites, the ruff of fur lit from above, the eyes green and level and looking straight out at the wearer. Around it sits a silver toned case with a bezel ringed in small clear stones, which catch the light from the side and frame the picture the way a setting frames a gem.

Two slender hands sweep across the fur. There are no numerals to compete with the artwork, so the dial reads as a picture first and the time second.

The strap is black, with a fine grain pattern visible across it.
