You are never hunting for an odd size, and replacements cost very little.

A pad exactly the same size as the cover leaves the corners empty and the whole thing sags. Going one size up on the pad fills the cover completely, sits plump, and holds its shape when someone leans on it.
Interior stylists do this as a matter of course and almost nobody else knows about it. It is the single cheapest improvement you can make to cushions you already own.
