The tension in it

A still black background carrying an animal in motion. The wolf is caught mid-stride, coming head on through deep snow with spray kicking up around its shoulders, and the whole thing is worked in white and grey against the black. That is the reason this one works where a purely serene image would be forgettable.

Where to hang it

Opposite the bed rather than above it. Art above a headboard is rarely seen by the people using the room, and a piece you only notice when making the bed is a piece wasted.

Keep it away from a window if you can. The snow and the wolf's coat are the brightest part of the image, and daylight falling straight across the canvas flattens the contrast between those whites and the black ground, which is the whole strength of the picture. The image is split across five panels, so allow for the gaps when you measure.
