Every culture that had access to metals arrived at the same two for ornament. That is not fashion agreeing across the whole world by coincidence.
It is chemistry. Almost every metal reacts with air and moisture and destroys itself: iron rusts, copper goes green, lead dulls to nothing. Gold does not react at all. Gold pulled out of a four thousand year old grave comes out looking exactly as it did going in.
Silver is very nearly as stable. It tarnishes slowly with sulphur in the air, which is a surface film rather than decay, and it polishes back.
So the two metals that became money and jewellery are simply the two that survive being owned. Everything else was too useful, too common, or quietly falling apart.
Match what you already wear rather than agonising. A gold pendant against a silver watch reads as an accident.
If you own nothing yet, silver tone is the more neutral starting point.
An open ring with the design cut clean through it. The wolf stands side on across the bottom of the circle, on a curved rock ledge that joins the hoop at either end, facing left with its head tipped back and its muzzle raised into the empty middle. Nothing else fills the ring, so the howl has the whole opening to travel through. Golden or silver tone, the same shape either way.
