Two wolves howling is not two animals happening to make noise at the same time. Mated pairs duet, and the duetting is part of what holds the bond.
The odd part is that they avoid matching. Rather than harmonising, each animal shifts off the other's pitch, and a pair sliding around each other's notes sounds like considerably more than two wolves to anything listening from a distance.
It is an old trick and a good one: sound like a crowd, and nobody comes to check.
Two animals rather than one changes what a pendant says. A lone wolf is about the wearer; a pair is about a relationship, and that puts this in the small category of things worth giving to someone.
Wolf pairs commonly stay together for life, and a wild pack is simply that pair and their children.
Silver or gold, on a chain or a rope. Rope is softer against the neck and suits an informal look; the chain lasts indefinitely and matches the pendant.
Our article on why wolves howl covers the duet. See wolf pendant necklaces.
