This is a triptych sold by real measurement rather than by Small and Large, which removes the usual guesswork.
Read the sizes carefully though: 20x40cm X 3 pieces means each panel is 20x40cm, and the three panels stack one above another rather than sitting side by side. The piece needs three panel heights plus the gaps between them, so the total drop is considerably taller than the number suggests, and that is the single most common ordering mistake on multi-panel work.
Lay the three panels on the floor first and measure the whole arrangement including gaps. Mark the wall from the centre outward rather than from one end, so the piece stays balanced whatever the final drop.
Keep gaps small and identical. A few centimetres is right; uneven spacing is the thing people notice without knowing why.
A celestial composition. A wolf's head fills the upper part of the stack, facing straight out, gold eyes, the fur lit blue against orange and violet cloud, with a fine white geometric circle drawn behind it. The lowest panel carries a run of moon phases across a star field with a full gold moon at the centre. It is a strongly centred image: the face sits above the moons and everything in the composition points back to it.
The painting size chart shows scale in a room. More in wolf painting.
