Origami works to one rule: a single square of paper, folded, never cut. Whatever the finished animal owns, its ears, its jaw, its raised throat, has to be found inside that one sheet. This howling wolf head borrows the look of that result, a face resolved into flat planes meeting along hard creases.
The head is thrown back and to the side, muzzle lifted, and the neck and ruff fall away in a long run of triangles. Some panels are left open, drawn as fine black outlines. Others are filled solid, so the shadow under the jaw and the deep fur along the ruff read as weight rather than as pattern. The eye is a small closed shape, barely there, and the design is stronger for it.
Angular work of this kind never quite settles. The drawing describes a surface that folds, all ridges and hollows, while the black itself stays perfectly flat, and the eye keeps trying to resolve one into the other. In the photograph the plain grey background lets every crease read clearly.
