Almost every wolf design sold anywhere shows a single animal. This one shows the group, and it is by some distance the more accurate picture.

A wild pack is a breeding pair and their offspring from the last few years. Not a collection of rivals and not a ranking anyone fought their way up: a family, in which the two adults lead because they are the parents.

Almost every wolf spends almost its whole life in company. The solitary phase is a brief and genuinely dangerous stretch between leaving one family and founding another, which makes the lone wolf a crisis rather than an ideal.
