Rainbow mandala petals frame this print on three sides, bands of orange, magenta and green radiating inwards like stained glass, and in the middle of them sits a single pale wolf head.

The mandala and the galaxy

The head fills the width of the bed. The coat is white and soft grey, shaded to charcoal around the muzzle and brow, and the eyes are a cold pale blue that pulls the whole design together. Below the chin the pattern opens into deep galaxy blue scattered with stars, and two feathered arrows cross the lower hem.

Both pillow covers repeat the same head on the same banded colour, so the three pieces read as one picture laid out together rather than three separate prints.

A coat that pale is no painter's invention. Arctic wolves carry white year round, and pale individuals turn up across the northern grey wolf range, which is part of why the white wolf holds such a firm place in folklore.
