The body stands in profile while the head swings round to face you straight on, and that turn is the moment the whole sculpt is built around. The coat is cream white with warm apricot shading worked into the fur, deepest over the shoulders and haunches, so the black nose, the dark wedges inside the ears and the pale blue eyes are the only strong marks on it.
The white wolf is a subspecies of the grey wolf that lives in the northern latitudes of North America, where temperatures are punishing and a deep coat is what makes the winter survivable. The figurine gives that fur its due: heavy through the ruff and chest, ridged along the flank, with the tail hanging low and full.
