Three red claw marks are torn across the front of the black top, and the rest of the costume answers them. The red tartan skirt is cut into uneven points at the hem with loose threads left hanging, and matching tartan strips sit at the shoulders and neckline, so one story runs from collar to knee rather than several.
A check shows damage more clearly than a solid colour, which is why tartan turns up so often in werewolf dress. Every torn line breaks a grid the eye can still see continuing on either side of the gap, and the tear registers from across a room. The grey fur hat carries the same idea on, with two standing wolf ears, long ear flaps and a tartan trim to tie it back to the skirt. The paw gloves leave the fingers free, and shaggy grey leg warmers close the outfit at the ankle.
