One folk tale turns up again and again across Europe. A wolf attacks, someone strikes back and takes off a forepaw, and by morning the paw on the table is a human hand, rings still on the fingers. The story survives because it puts the transformation somewhere you can pick up and examine, and it explains why a werewolf costume has never been only about the head.
The mask is a wolf face in grey and brown with a heavy brow, amber eyes, a black nose and an open mouth showing pink gums and white fangs. Two pointed ears stand upright. A deep collar of long blonde fur runs around the sides and gathers under the chin, with the same fur laid across the crown. The gloves answer it: dark grey hands sculpted with knuckles and raised veins, long curved claws at every fingertip, and a wide blonde fur cuff at each wrist.
Detail is what sells a transformation. The vein work on the backs of the hands and the creasing around the muzzle do the same job the old storytellers did with the ring left on the finger. They insist the thing was recently alive. Werewolf imagery has a long afterlife.
A full face mask with the possibility to see through, and a realistic rendering throughout. It anchors a complete wolf costume, and there is more to compare in the wolf mask collection.
