A full round moon fills each of the two cavities in this mould, joined side by side where they touch, and inside each one a wolf sits with its head tipped back and its muzzle open in a howl. The pair mirror one another, so a single pour gives a matched set that faces inwards rather than two copies of the same piece.
The cast is a clean silhouette, the moon a closed round rim on the outside and the wolf seated in the open centre, with a small round hole moulded at the top of each piece so a ribbon, a skewer or a topper pick can pass through. Chocolate, fondant, jelly and sponge batter all take the shape, and the outline stays legible from across a table, which is what a birthday, christening or anniversary cake asks for.
Three sizes are offered, S, M and L, weighing 20 g, 30 g and 40 g in turn. The composition is food grade silicone, ultra flexible and non-stick, quick to wash, and rated from -40°C to 230°C, so it moves between freezer and oven. Greasing the cavity lightly with a neutral oil first lets the pieces come away without tearing.
