Split straight down the centre, this wolf is two pictures at once. The left half is painted like a living animal, the muzzle shaded from magenta through violet into blue, one pale ice blue eye holding the middle distance. The right half turns to ornament: spirals, dotwork, stacked triangles and leaf shapes in acid green, gold and teal, the ear packed edge to edge with pattern.
The head sits on a deep indigo mandala, petal rings repeating outward to all four edges of the panel. A thin rainbow circle traces round the portrait and keeps pulling your eye back to it. Printed at this scale, the wolf reads as a face from across the room and as pure pattern once you are close.
