White fur, laid on in short overlapping strokes, covers this small polar wolf from the tips of its ears to the brush of its tail. Grey shading sits down in the grooves between the strokes, which is what keeps the coat looking layered rather than flat under a light.
This is a young animal rather than a full grown one. The head is broad, the muzzle short, and the legs are set wide in the square, slightly unsteady stance that young wolves hold. The head turns to one side, showing a single amber eye and a black nose in profile, and the near ear carries a wash of pale tan on the inside. The toes are tipped with dark claws. It is moulded in PVC with a length of 6 cm, small enough to sit on a desk or a windowsill.
The polar or arctic wolf is a subspecies of Canis lupus that lives in the far north of North America, where the temperature can drop to minus 60 degrees Celsius. Its thick white coat is what makes that survivable. These wolves travel in packs of five to ten under a dominant pair, with a strict order that the whole group keeps to.
