There is an actual wolf in the sky

Lupus, the Wolf, is a genuine constellation in the southern sky beside Centaurus. It is one of the forty-eight catalogued by Ptolemy in the second century, so people have been putting a wolf among the stars for roughly two thousand years.

This piece is a modern version of a very old habit rather than a new idea.

Deep colour, and what it does

Space imagery lives or dies on the darkness behind it. Here a black field carries red and crimson on one side and emerald green on the other, with a cracked planet breaking apart between them and a tan and cream wolf's head looking straight out of the middle, and the whole composition depends on that contrast holding.

Which means light matters. Hung facing a window, a dark canvas turns reflective through the middle of the day and the depth flattens out. Put it on a wall the light crosses rather than one the light hits.

Which room

Bedrooms, studies, anywhere used mostly after dark. It is a poor choice for a bright kitchen.
