Lone Wolf, No Club

Two banners and a wolf. The upper arc carries the words Lone Wolf in white capitals, and the lower curve answers with No Club in the same hand, both set on black and edged in red. The letters are packed close and the white sits solid against the dark ground, so the words hold their shape even as the banner bends.

Between them sits the head, snarling, worked in sand and tan with heavy black shading pressed into the brow and the sides of the jaw. The eyes are red, the fangs white above and below, and the tongue a bright red note at the centre of the mouth. A red outline runs round the head and both banners, tying the three shapes into one piece.

The lone wolf in fact and folklore

A wolf that leaves its pack is called a disperser, and it may travel hundreds of miles alone before it finds a mate and founds a pack of its own. Solitude, for a wolf, is a stage on the way to a territory of one's own, which is most of the appeal of the phrase.
